Abbazia di Rosazzo

'Genesis of water' - Yoshin Ogata

Biennial art exhibition which is a part of the cycle "Art to believe".

After Arrigo Poz, Safet Zec, Pablo Atchugarry and Novello Finotti, the protagonist of this edition is the Japanese sculptor Yoshin Ogata.

In Italy now for many years, Ogata has held numerous personal exhibitions and made numerous monumental sculptures in Italian and foreign cities.

A constant theme of Ogata's works is "water, or rather its slow and repetitive action which carves out the material, to which the artist appears to conform in an intense, painstaking inexhaustible activity, a reading and re-reading of the theme which enthusiastically and admiringly praises the form to then free it from all sensual bonds and obstacles to the attainment of truer expressive values. Ogata has an eye which gives nothing over to doubt, does not slip into that ephemeral area of tiredness and passivity, nourished as it is by the vigour of the intellect and the truth of sentiment." (C. Giumelli)

The works of Ogata will be on display in the various spaces of the Abbey of Rosazzo (Manzano - Udine) from 15 September to 18 November 2007, every day holidays included, with the following visiting hours 9 am - 12 midday / 3 pm - 6 pm.

A catalogue of the exhibition will be available.
